A tool to predict coercivity in magnetic materials

چکیده

Magnetic coercivity is often viewed to be lower in alloys with negligible (or zero) values of the anisotropy constant. However, this explains little about dramatic drop FeNi at a non-zero value. Here, we develop theoretical and computational tool investigate fundamental interplay between material constants that govern bulk magnetic alloys. The two distinguishing features our are that: (a) introduce large localized disturbance, such as spike-like domain, provides nucleation barrier for magnetization reversal; (b) account magneto-elastic energy—however small—in addition magnetostatic energy terms. We apply show interactions local instabilities constants, magnetostriction key factors Using model, minimum permalloy composition (Fe21.5Ni78.5) which alloy’s constant not zero. systematically vary around composition, identify new combinations small. More broadly, framework potentially discover novel materials low coercivity.

Modeling Coercivity of Soft Magnetic Materials

Both physical and phenomenological models are necessary to obtain good descriptions of coercivity in soft magnetic materials. The former models give insight into the processes involved, while the latter models compute quickly. The differences between modeling soft and hard materials are the parameters sizes and the importance of eddy currents.

The reversal mechanism and coercivity of permanent magnetic materials

The underlying mechanism of coercivity in permanent magnets has been a topic of intense interest for many years. It is motivated by the fact that the measured coercivity approaches only 20%–40% of the theoretical nucleation fields as derived from micromagnetic theory. We address this problem by proposing an analytical model, within the framework of the micromagnetic approximation, to examine th...

Estimation of fatigue exposure from magnetic coercivity

An investigation of the effects of fatigue on A533B steel under constant load amplitude is reported in this paper. It was found that the plastic strain of the sample accumulated logarithmically with the number of stress cycles after initial fatigue softening. Based on the fact that plastic strain is often linearly related to the coercivity of material, at least for small changes of H c , a phen...

Coercivity of permanent magnetic thin film.

The coercivity of magnetic thin film having a two-dimensional easy-axis distribution is investigated within the framework of a simple micromagnetic model. It is found that the coercivity decreases from 0.14H(K) to a minimum of 0.07H(K) as thickness increases, where H(K) is the anisotropy field. It is substantially lower than that given by the Stoner-Wohlfarth model and is consistent with availa...
